David is deeply fascinated by these strange notes, and gets more and more curious about the lonesome man who writes them. However, Bernhard himself isn't as easy to find as his notes ... The older Prince Bernhard tells the story of his exciting life to Princess Máxima. After all, when Prince Willem-Alexander takes the throne, she will be his Queen and take up much the same position as Bernhard did as husband to former Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. His story takes us from Palace Soestdijk to once-German Reckenwalde with the young Bernhard, to Nazi-Berlin, wartime in London, Argentina and Canada and much more. It paints a portrait of the world from the thirties to the beginning of the twenty-first century. Bernhard survived the deepest of crises: accusation of treason by Ian Fleming during the war, corruption in the fifties and seventies, extra-marital daughters and even being the main reason for a dutch governmental crisis.

The Prince and the Girl goes back to June 2003. The investigation into Mabel's background is in full swing, including her friendships with men such as the criminal Klaas Bruinsma and Mohammed Sacirbey, a Bosnian politician imprisoned in the US on suspicion of gambling away development funds. During this period, Prime Minister Balkenende has four conversations with Friso and Mabel, and the pressure on the couple to tell the truth grows ever greater. Until finally, they themselves no longer know what the truth is and find themselves falling from one uncertainty into another.

Director Michael Wech follows him throughout an entire season (including at the U.S. Masters Tournament in Augusta) and tells a multifaceted story that weaves personal insights with defining moments from his extraordinary career. The film spans Langer’s childhood in Anhausen (Bavaria), his early days as a caddie, and his triumphs on the world’s most prestigious golf courses. Companions from across several decades share their stories—including international sports legends such as Sir Nick Faldo, Roger Federer, Martin Kaymer, Colin Montgomerie, Gary Player, Marcel Siem, and Annika Sörenstam.

His buildings and sculptures still attract attention today, but their creator is almost forgotten: the sculptor and architect Bernhard Hoetger. The 90-minute film by Gabriele Rose tells the fate of this idiosyncratic artist. Hoetger is portrayed by the actor Moritz Führmann. Starring alongside him are Florian Lukas as Heinrich Vogeler, Katharina Stark as Paula Modersohn-Becker and Ulrich Gebauer as Ludwig Roselius.
